(UN)YIELDING - A TRILOGY

Friday June 7th 2024 sees the release of (Un)Yielding (I), the first part of a trilogy of solo releases. There will be no pre-orders on these but if you want first pickings make sure you are on the mailing list. Each will be a limited edition of 50 cassettes, plus digital from the usual outlets and released via Gizeh Records.

A-Sun Amissa mainstay Richard Knox continues his solo drone explorations with this suite of six long-form ambient works. (Un)Yielding is presented as a trilogy of releases and finds Knox in real zonal, blissed out form.

Over these six, drifting and horizontal drones there is a sense that time has slowed. The natural saturation from the use of 4 track recording reveals a dense dissonance and a sombre, unsettling mood, dragging you into a blurry and confused world.

Recorded at Knox’s Cloud Blunt Moon studio, and the follow-up to 2023’s sound/art/installation piece Land Marks, (Un)Yielding is trance-inducing work. Deep, decaying ambient movements buried within grainy, distorted textures and maximal disintegration. This is midnight music. Brooding, strung out and blissful.
